Frequently asked questions
Do you place GCU students in every state?
Yes. We match preceptors and prepare OFE-ready site paperwork in all 50 states. Each state page covers its practice-authority rules, its Board of Nursing, and how placement works there.
Does my practicum follow GCUโs rules or my stateโs rules?
Both. GCU sets the program requirements, such as 750 supervised clinical hours for its NP tracks, while your state governs NP licensure and scope. Your preceptor must hold a license that fits your state and specialty.
Can I complete hours in a different state than where I live?
Sometimes, if you hold the right licensure there and GCU approves the site. Tell us your state and track in a free placement review and we will map what works.
